NEW ALBUM COVER: Hilary Duff – “Best of Hilary Duff”

11 Aug

We love Hilary Duff‘s album cover, for her new Best of Hilary Duff CD, which is the last CD she’ll be releasing from Disney-owned Hollywood Records, which will be released September 23rd.

Even though the album photo is from her 2007 Dignity [Japan Version] album, we still love it!🙂

The new collection will feature 12-previous tracks from Duff, but the new album is nothing like her 2005 release Most Wanted.

Tracklisting for Best of Hilary Duff:

1. Reach Out
2. Holiday
3. Stranger
4. With Love
5. Play With Fire
6. Wake Up
7. Fly
8. Come Clean (Remix)
9. So Yesterday
10. Why Not
11. Reach Out (Remix)
12. Holiday (Remix)

Huh?I don’t get it.so this is HIlary Duff’s last Hollywood Record CD,which record did she sign with now???Is she stopping her music career????

  2. Ben August 11, 2008 at 6:56 pm #

No, she’s not stopping her music career completely, she’s just leaving Hollywood Records. She is going to be looking for a new label, I’m assuming, to do more of what she wants with her music.

she’s trying to get everyone to remember how much they liked her, so she’s putting out all her biggest hits. kinda a desperate act… : /

i don’t really care about hilary, she was about a year before my time, but she’s probably threated by used-to be’s like raven and vanessa bombing in sales and being dropped. so she’s releasing her biggest hits, then quitting before sales get back.

bye bye to yet ANOTHER disney star…

I don´t agrre with that comment that this is a desperate act, Hilary is still one of the hottest star, and will be for many years more. She is just wrapping up her contract with Hollywood Records, with a cd of her greatest hit, and then she will make new music.

  6. Wünschinator August 15, 2008 at 11:33 pm #

I agree with Alex, she’s just fulfilling the contract and since she doesn’t wanna or maybe even can’t (because they won’t let her) release a new album with new songs with Hollywood Records, she’s doing this best-of CD so she can continue doing the kinda music she really wants to do after it. I heard that RCA might become her new home, but we’ll see. And according to what I’ve read on some websites, she’s already written a couple new songs which could be on her new album under the new label. Let’s hope for an awesome new CD in 2009. I have faith in you, Hilary!

Shes breaking up with Hollywood Records for a few reasons.

    1. They promised her a Dignity concert DVD, which she never got.

    2. They want her to go back to her Disney roots, and start making bubble-gum pop again, just like she did in metamorphosis and all that.

    3. They were pressuring her to release a new CD this year, which she refused to do because shes writing the music for a CD she was planning to release this summer.

In conclusion, Hollywood Records was treating Hilary like crap, so she decided to break apart from them. It wasn’t her choice or plan to make another “best of” CD, but she couldn’t control that. Since Hollywood Records didn’t want her to leave, in return they have given Hil’s new CD absolutely no promo or advertisement, because they hope Hilary will simply vanish and be forgotten. So buy her CD, so we, as her fans, can prove to Hollywood Records that Hilary will NOT be forgotten and can still do good on the charts.

    Hilary is awesome!

  12. LexM. October 4, 2008 at 5:37 pm #

Just like Dan said Hollywood Records was treating Hilary like crap and Hilary wanted out. The only way to leave Hollywood Records was to complete her contract which said she must have 6 albums with them.
That’s why Hilary is releasing “Best Of Hilary Duff” so this album could complete her contract…and she could get of Hollywood Records.
She wants to start with a whole new album…new songs and everything with a new record label next year….Rumored record labels for Hilary is RCA and Universal.

I came late into the Hilary Duff reign, i’ll admit it, i tried to avoid listening to her, I thought she was just another cog in the Disney machine, then Dignity came out, and i fell in love with her voice, and ended up buying all of her previous albums. Its only natural that with growing up, she would want to change to a label that will allow her to step out of Disney’s shadow. I wish her luck in the transfer from labels, and will most definately follow her to wherever she goes. I think she has done a good job tryin to shed that Disney image with War, Inc… definately not a movie for “wholesome” Hilary of the past. Congrats Hilary! Fight the Disney machine and do what you want to do

  28. Aimie April 17, 2009 at 7:12 am #

She isn’t trying to be popular ‘all over again’ or get ‘noticed’ with her older material. She wanted to do a record which kind of sealed off Hollywood records. I like it – it’s her best tunes and it’s a great way to sign off. I can’t wait for more of her music! I like her doing dance/electro music :] Hilary rocks foreverrrr😀

  29. shahin August 21, 2009 at 7:44 am #

she must not stoping her music at all be cause she has a very good singing and a good actres her songs are very amazing

  30. Pal August 30, 2009 at 2:31 am #

Disney promised her a lot of things for her cd (for example they said they make it a 2 disc album which never happened). They kept failing to live up to their words and she wanted someone who was fully behind her. Her cds are great but they don’t sell as much because of poor promotion. Disney is only concentrated getting quick money out of stars like Miley and the Jonas Brothers. If she had a supporting label and good promotion she would be doing great in sales. In my opinion she doesn’t need Disney, she’s too good for them.
